28 June 2018 – FRANCE – Leading fuel and aviation solutions provider World Fuel Services (WFS) has utilised its engineering expertise to build and install a new Avgas self-service system at Aéroport deRouen, in Normandy. WFS managed all engineering work for the modernsation project.

Implementation of the self-service fuel system was scheduled around a planned airport closure to minimize disruption to airport customers. The two-week window provided a tight timeframe but WFS met the deadline. This installation represents a significant investment in the French business aviation sector by WFS, as it continues its expansion across the country.

“As a global fuel and aviation solutions provider, we’re fully committed to investing in the business aviation industry across the world,” said Mark Amor, vice president, World Fuel Services.

"This modernisation project is a perfect example of this, bringing up-to-date services to a key French airport to support growth in the region through an enhanced customer experience.”

World Fuel Services also complements the Avgas offering with a self-service payment platform that accepts World Fuel Services’ AVCARD – a card that can be used at more than 7,600 locations globally. This flexible payment platform further improves the customer experience, offering an end-to-end self-service solution.

“Time is of the essence for Aéroport de Rouen’s business customers and our self-service offering delivers a more efficient Avgas fueling system for private aircrafts travelling through the airport” added Amor. “The successful implementation of the self-service Avgas solution is testament to the hard work of our team and our commitment to flexibility and innovation.”

Agathe Derome, Airport Director at Rouen Airport, said: “Our private customers expect the highest quality and most convenient service available so utilising World Fuel Service’s vast business aviation experience to drive innovation at the airport is of vital importance. The complexity of the Avgas selfservice refueling system is clear, yet WFS managed the implementation from end-to-end in just two weeks to coincide with runway maintenance. The introduction of the self-service payment system is just as efficient and we look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.”
