BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • Private flights are allowed if prior permission is obtained from the Angola CAA.
  • Entry to Angola: There are several indirect commercial flights between the UK and Angola operated by TAP Air Portugal, Lufthansa, Air France, Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines.
  • All passengers require Negative PCR test no older than 72 Hours and are required to complete an online form - https://viagem.covid19.gov.ao/en/
  • Diplomatic and Ambulance Flight are allowed.
  • The Angolan government requires travelers leaving the country to present a negative COVID results from a test taken 72 hours prior to travel as well as proof of vaccination.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Two COVID-19 tests, a TDR rapid test and a PCR test, are required and will be conducted upon arrival at the Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport at the traveler’s expense.
  • All travelers who stay in Benin longer than 15 days must undergo a third COVID-19 test. The test can be performed without a prescription at the Palais des congrès in Cotonou or at routine screening sites throughout the country.
  • All travelers arriving at or departing from Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport must take mandatory COVID-19 tests. Travelers must register at the appointment website to schedule a test and pay the testing fee. The fee for testing is 50,000 CFA each direction and includes all three arrival tests or the departure test. Tests for travelers under five years old are at no charge. Arriving airlines may require proof of registration or proof of ability to pay prior to boarding.
  • Departing travelers who stay in the country for more than three days must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result to be permitted entry into the Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport. The Government of Benin recommends that departing travelers get tested 72 hours prior to their entry at the airport to ensure that the test result is received. The test can be performed at the Palais des congrès in Cotonou by appointment through the appointment website. Expedited testing (labeled “VIP”), which can produce results in 4-6 hours, can be requested for an additional cost and are performed at the VIP testing center near the Nobila Hotel.
  • Travelers may also be required to use hand sanitizer and walk through a disinfectant fogger machine at the airport.
  • Travelers who test positive as part of the airport exit procedures will be required to following the requirements of the Government of Benin, including mandatory quarantine and waiting at least 10 days before retesting.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • All charter flights permitted subject to CAA approval.
  • All private flights are permitted without a landing permit.  Flight plan must be filled and accepted for all Private flights.
  • All airports, but the following may be used as a port of Entry/Exit:

  • Commercial flights into Botswana are operating through South Africa and Ethiopia, though additional restrictions for U.S. citizens traveling from high-risk countries may be in place for some transit countries. All incoming travelers require a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their departure for Botswana and will be tested at the Port of Entry even with a negative certified test prior to arrival. Please note that enforcement of regulations may not be consistent.

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS

  • All travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test valid within 72 hours of their departure for Botswana. Testing regulations are often not clearly published or enforced: expect inconsistent application of rules or sudden unexplained changes in enforcement. 
  • All travelers exiting Botswana are required to present a negative PCR test valid within 72 hours of their departure from Botswana.
  • Travelers entering Botswana from high-risk countries may be required to quarantine at a designated facility and will be tested on day seven of their quarantine to be released based on the results of the test.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 The following are the revised requirements for travelers entering and exiting Botswana:

  1. Present a negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done within 72 hours upon arrival for the traveler that has been outside Botswana for 36 hours or longer.
  2. Travelers who have been outside Botswana for less than 36 hours will be allowed entry using the negative COVID-19 PCR test obtained upon exit.
  3. Complete a COVID-19 self- declaration Screening form and undergo temperature checks upon arrival entry into Botswana.
  4. May be required to undertake mandatory testing and possible isolation or quarantine, as per section 76 (1) (2) and 80 of the Public Health Act of 2014 if found to have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19.
  5. Complete a traveler locator form, providing accurate contact information while in Botswana. The local health authority may contact the traveler within 14 days of arrival.
  6. Returning citizens and residents not meeting the requirement will undergo 14-day mandatory quarantine and testing at their own cost (as assessed by a local authority).
  7. Children aged under five (5) years are upon arrival exempted from the 72-hour negative COVID-19 PCR test result requirement but should undergo screening for COVID-19 symptoms.
  8. Non- citizen travelers not meeting the requirement and unable to bear the cost for testing and quarantine upon arrival will be DENIED entry into Botswana.
  9. Travelers exiting Botswana are expected to comply with travel regulations of the destination country at their expense.

Rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) or antibody tests are currently not accepted.  If a passenger does not arrive with a negative COVID-19 test, a rapid COVID-19 test will be performed at the airport, at a cost of 90,000 CFA (approximately 155 US Dollars) and the passenger will be detained until results are available.  All travelers are also required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR (nasal swab) test dated within five days to depart from Ouagadougou International Airport.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • All flights to/from HBBA are now permitted subject to CAA Approval.
  • Negative PCR Test Required within 72hrs of arrival to Burundi
  • All passengers are required to have negative PCR test certificates in order to depart Burundi regardless of destination thereafter. Please note that the Burundian government requires a negative PCR test from INSP (the Institut National de Santé Publique) and proof of payment for the test at INSP to leave the country. There are no exceptions to this rule even if you are vaccinated, are not exhibiting symptoms, test negative elsewhere, or do not receive your test results in time for your departing flight. You will not be able to leave until you can produce a negative test result from INSP within 72 hours of your scheduled departure and provide proof of your payment for the test.

 

RESTRICTIONS FOR TECHNICAL REFUELING/CREW REST

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS

  • Crew will not have to Quarantine if they present a negative PCR/Covid test on arrival. This is applicable only for their movement from HBBA to Hotel at arrival and Hotel to HBBA on departure
  • International travelers arriving to Burundi will no longer be required to undergo a mandatory three-day quarantine.  Instead, travelers will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival and must then confine themselves at home or at a hotel of their choice while awaiting the test results, which they will receive within 24 hours of testing.  Those who test positive for COVID-19 will be subject to quarantine but may obtain medical treatment and advice from the Ministry of Health.
  • If an individual shows a positive test result, they will be transferred to a Care Center for monitoring at their own expense for a period of 14 days or more and required to have two negative control test results before being discharged.

Departing passengers will undergo COVID-19 screening including the checking of temperature. 
    • Only passengers and persons with business in the terminal will be allowed entry to the Departure Hall. Online check-in or the use of self-service kiosks is strongly encouraged to reduce physical contact at the airport. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. 
  • Arriving Passengers 
    • All arriving passengers must not have any symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 including body temperature >38°C. They must be in possession of a COVID-19 negative PCR test result from an accredited laboratory in the country of origin. The test should have been done not more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time from the country of origin. For passengers who transit through other countries before arriving in Ghana, the first country of departure will be the reference point. For passengers who depart Ghana and return within one (1) week, the passengers will not be required to present a COVID-19 test result from the country of departure. A negative COVID-19 test from Ghana used on departure will serve as evidence of meeting the COVID-19 test criteria for arriving in Ghana. 
    • In addition, all persons must be wearing face mask appropriately upon arrival (extending from the middle of the nasal bridge to halfway between the chin and the neck). All passengers will be subjected to a mandatory COVID-19 test at the airport terminal at the cost of $150 to be borne by the passenger. Payment can be made online at https://myfrontierhealthcare.com/Home/Ghana. Any passenger who is unable to pay online will be required to make payment on arrival for the test. 
    • All arriving passengers who test positive for COVID-19 will undergo a seven (7) day mandatory isolation and treatment at a designated health facility or isolation centre. However, the final discharge of cases will be based on existing case management guidelines and protocols. 
    • All passengers who test negative for COVID-19 will be required to continuously adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols and will receive regular information on COVID-19 within five (5) days of arrival in Ghana. 
  • Sanctions 
    • Airlines that board passengers without a PCR test result or a Positive PCR test result will be sanctioned and fined US$3,500 per passenger. Non-Ghanaian passengers may be refused entry and returned to the point of embarkation at a cost to the Airline. Ghanaians will have their passports seized and will be allowed entry but subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine at a facility approved by the Government and at a cost to the passenger. 
  • Exemptions 
    • The following categories of passengers and crew are exempt from COVID-19 PCR Testing 
      • Children under-5 years of age will not be required to undergo testing at the airport. 
      • Children between the ages of 5-12 years will undergo testing on arrival free of charge. 
      • Persons who arrive under emergency circumstances such as diverted flights will not be required to undergo testing if they do not leave the airport or if they remain in transit such that they do not leave the hotel. 
      • Airline crew are exempt from the pre-departure and arrival testing and should follow airline policy for testing. 
  • Travelling with Pets 
    • Travelling with pets into Ghana is allowed in line with guidelines of the Veterinary Services Directorate of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture 
  • Transit Passengers 
    • Passengers transiting and transferring through Accra will not be required to take the COVID-19 test in Accra. 
    • Transit passengers will be required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements for the destination countries. 
  • Management of Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 
    • All persons testing positive will receive further clinical assessment and treatment. Confirmed COVID-19 positive passengers will be handled by the Port Health Unit for the remainder of their arrival processes. Following completion of the arrival procedures, they will be sent to the Ga East Municipal Hospital for further clinical assessment and management. All persons testing negative will be advised to continue to observe COVID-19 safety precautions following arrival in Ghana.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • On December 13, 2021, all travelers MUST present a negative PCR COPDI-19 test result obtained from an accredited lab (96 HOURS) before departure. Travelers 18 years and above MUST show proof of the full COVID-19 vaccination upon arrival and before departure. Liberia recognizes these vaccines as designated y the WHO (J&J, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, Sinopharm, Sinovac)
  • All travelers arriving inti Liberia will be tested upon arrival, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status.
  • The IMS strongly encourages passengers to isolate for 7 days, especially if you are arriving from countries that have reported cases of the Omicron variant.
  • EXEMPT TRAVELERS: All arriving diplomats and their families and honorary consuls are exempt from testing. The exempt status does not apply to Liberian diplomats without foreign assignment. In lieu of testing, all exempt incoming travelers MUST present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result upon arrival at the airport in Liberia. The result must be from an accredited lab and must have been conducted within 96hours of arrival in Liberia. Children under 5 years of age are exempt from all COVID-19 testing. However, for the countries that require children to be tested, the stipulated fee will apply.
  • The new guidelines include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Passengers who have been present in India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh within the last 14 days will not be allowed entry into Liberia.
    • Mask-wearing and handwashing are mandatory in public, as well as social distancing of at least three feet.
    • Shot-term travelers (1-3 days duration whose PCR test date is still valid to exit Liberia will not need to test again.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • Flights are permitted however pax are restricted.
  • All arriving passengers via air into the Republic of Malawi shall be required to produce a negative SARS Cov-2 PCR test certificate obtained within 72 hours prior to arrival in Malawi.  Travelers without the required valid negative PCR COVID-19 test will be subjected to a Rapid Antigen Test on site before being admitted to Malawi without exception and at the traveler’s expense.
  • Anyone with a positive Rapid Antigen Test will be subjected to a PCR test at the traveler’s expense, then conveyed to the District Health System where they will be managed according to standard national protocols.  You may not present a letter from a medical provider stating you have recovered from COVID.
  • Beginning December 10, the government also requires a valid electronic COVID-19 full vaccination certificate to enter Malawi.  Arriving travelers unable to show an electronic vaccination certificate at point of entry shall be expected to access COVID-19 vaccines for free at the point of entry before being allowed to enter or re-enter Malawi.
  • Travelers unable to produce a valid immunization certificate and who refuse to access the vaccines offered at the point of entry will be required to undergo institutional quarantine for 10 days at their cost. Travelers will not have a choice in where they are placed.
  • Any symptomatic passengers will be handled according to specific guidelines laid down by the Health Authorities. All arriving passengers shall fill out and submit Travel Surveillance Forms (TSF) which shall be made available on-board aircraft or in the airport terminal building. The forms shall be handed over to health personnel in the terminal building.
  • All departing passengers via air from the Republic of Malawi shall be required to produce a negative SARS CoV-2 PCR test certificate obtained within 72 hours prior to departure from Malawi (*note that various destination countries may have their respective COVID-19 testing guidelines).

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any passenger who arrives without a negative COVID-19 test result or with a COVID-19 test result dated more than five days before arrival will have their travel documents retained by airport officials and will be subjected to testing and may be required to self-quarantine at home or at a hotel at their expense until the test result is available. Anyone suspected of having COVID-19, despite presenting a negative COVID-19 test result, will be subject to testing. If test results are positive, that person’s travel documents will be retained, and the traveler will be put into isolation at a government of Mali facility.  The travel documents will be returned once the patient is deemed free of COVID-19.

  • Travelers should be prepared for changes to entry requirements with little or no advanced notice.

  • The Government of Mali has implemented enhanced screening and quarantine measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  Travelers should be prepared for additional travel restrictions to go into effect with little or no advanced notice.
  • Check with your airline prior to travel regarding restrictions and COVID-19 testing requirements for Mali and for any countries through which you intend to travel to and from Mali.  You may be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result prior to departing Mali.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • French territories maintain control at its borders and restricts travel.
  • Covid-19 – Flight Restrictions: All International flights can only be admitted with the Prior Authorization of The State Representative In 'Mayotte.'
  • Little is known about the situation in Mayotte, and although travel justification will be lifted for fully vaccinated travelers, it is warned that even these travelers could be at very high risk of infection.
  • A negative PCR test of less than 72 hours are required for all passengers.
  • Travelers who are not vaccinated must show they are essential travelers with a compelling reason for travel to and from Mayotte.
  • Individuals travelling to Mayotte over the age of 11 must present the following:

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • Passengers arriving from countries on List A must present proof of COVID-19 vaccination.  Travelers from List B countries, which includes those simply transiting a List B country, must be fully vaccinated AND present a negative PCR test administered within 48 hours of the date entering Morocco.  Children under age 12 are exempt from vaccine and PCR testing requirements.  Additionally, travelers may be randomly selected to undergo testing on arrival and arriving passenger who tests positive on arrival will not be able to enter the country.  Travelers from List C countries are not permitted to enter Morocco.
  • Unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated travelers from countries on List B must undergo a 10-day quarantine on arrival at a hotel.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Effective December 6, regardless of nationality, all air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing to the US from a foreign country are required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before they board their flight.
  • Mandatory curfew in Maputo, provincial capitals, municipalities, and towns throughout Mozambique is from midnight to 4:00 am
  • The Government of Mozambique does not require a COVID-19 test to exit the country. However, acting as agents for the airlines, officials at the airport will request a negative COVID-19 PCR test before permitting you through immigration.
  • Failure to comply with the COVID-19 measures outlined in the Boletim da República (Number 224, 23 November 2020) constitutes a transgression, punishable by fines from one to five times the minimum salary. It is within the jurisdiction of the local tribunal to collect these fines.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • ALL FLIGHT TYPES ARE PERMITTED PROVIDED THAT A LANDING PERMIT IS OBTAINED FROM THE NAMIBIA AIS
  • All non-Namibian travelers arriving in Namibia are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from their country of departure that is not older than 72 hours upon arrival.  If the traveler meets this requirement, no quarantine or additional testing is required. 
  • Non-Namibian travelers arriving with a negative result that is older than 72 hours will be placed in quarantine and tested for COVID-19 on the same day at their own cost and will only be released if the results of this test return negative. 
  • This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 5 years. 
  • All travelers coming from or transiting through hotspot regions such as India, are required to repeat the SARS COV-2 PCR test, 7 days after arrival in Namibia.

  • Non-Namibians must present a negative PCR test result. However, non-Namibian travelers arriving with a negative result that is older than 72 hours will be placed in quarantine and tested for COVID-19 on the same day at their own cost.  If the results of this test come back negative, they will be released from quarantine.  If positive, they will be isolated at their own cost, according to Namibia’s isolation protocols.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • DNAA, DNMM and DNKN are open (24 HR Operations)
  • All travelers are permitted but must follow travel protocols.
    • a. Non-Nigerian passport holders and non-residents who visited Brazil, lndia, Turkey or South Africa within Fourteen (14) days preceding travel to Nigeria, shall be denied entry into Nigeria. This regulation, however, does not apply to passengers who transited through these countries.
    • b. The following measures shall apply to airlines and passengers who fail to comply with (a) above:
      • i. Airlines shall mandatorily pay a penalty of $3,500 (Three Thousand Five Hundred dollars) for each defaulting passenger; and
      • ii. Non-Nigerians will be denied entry and returned to the country of embarkation at cost to the Airline.
  • Returning legal residents who have been in India, Brazil, Turkey, or South Africa within 14 days of arrival in Nigeria must quarantine at a government-designated hotel for seven (7) days at their own expense.  In Lagos, the government-designated hotel is the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lagos Ikeja.
  • Rapid antigen testing is not widely used in Nigeria, and it is not recognized by the Nigerian government for travel purposes.  Travelers who arrive with a rapid antigen test may be required to quarantine at a Nigerian government facility.  Free COVID testing for those with symptoms is available from the Nigerian CDC, but results may not be available quickly.

  • The Nigerian government does not require a negative COVID-19 test to exit Nigeria.  However, the Abuja International Airport has recently required passengers to present a negative COVID PCR test result during check-in for travel.
  • Many airlines and countries have their own COVID-19 test requirements.  Please check the requirements of both your airline and destination country before departing Nigeria.  If returning to the United States, check with the State you are traveling to, as each State has its own requirements.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • Effective January 10, 2022, arriving passengers must quarantine for 24 hours at a designated quarantine hotel at their own cost. A COVID-19 PCR test will be taken upon arrival and an additional mandatory COVID-19 PCR test will be performed on day three post-arrival to Rwanda at a designated testing site. The traveler will bear the cost of both tests
  • All travelers arriving in Rwanda must have a negative COVID-19 certificate. The only accepted test is a SARS-CoV 2 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) performed within 72 hours prior to departure (meaning travelers must be tested and get results within 3 days of their first flight). Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Tests (RDTs), are not accepted. COVID-19 Test is not mandatory for accompanied children under 5 years
  • All travelers arriving in Rwanda must complete the passenger locator form and upload the COVID-19 test certificate before heading to the airport. Please see passenger locator form and list of designated transit hotels on www.rbc.gov.rw.
  • Travelers departing Rwanda must test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours before departure.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • ll travelers to Senegal over the age of two years must present an original COVID-19 test certificate showing a negative result. The test must occur within five days of entry into Senegal. The results must be from a PCR test (not a rapid test) and be issued by a laboratory approved for such testing or a recognized international health organization.  Travelers transiting Senegal must also show such proof if they will be present in Senegal more than 24 hours or wish to exit the airport.
  • Verification of testing compliance will be undertaken by the airline prior to departure. Passengers without a negative COVID-19 test may not be permitted to board.
  • The Government of Senegal has implemented restrictions that impact entry into Senegal for certain foreign nationals. U.S. citizens are not currently subject to these restrictions but must comply with COVID-19 screening requirements above. We encourage all U.S. citizens intending to travel to Senegal to contact their airline for additional information.

  • The Seychelles Islands allow entry to visitors from most countries. For the time being this excludes visitors who have been in South Africa, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh in the last 14 days preceding their arrival in the Seychelles.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • The Ministry of Health & Sanitation announced the following health measures and protocols for arriving and departing passengers (age five and up) at Lungi International Airport:
    • All arriving passengers will be required to:
      • Obtain an authorization before arriving.
      • Have their temperature taken for symptoms of COVID-19.
      • Provide a negative COVID-19 test result issued within one week of the date of departure.
      • Take two COVID-19 tests upon arrival, at their own expense. The two tests consist of a rapid diagnostic test (RDT), which is performed by taking a blood sample, and a diagnostic test (RT-PCR), which is taken by nasal swap. The cost is $80.00. If the RDT comes back positive, the passenger will be quarantined at a nearby facility until the RT-PCR results are received 24-72 hours later. Please note that all passengers’ passports will be held until the RT-PCR test results are received. Additional testing information can be found here
    • All departing passengers will be required to:
      • Provide a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of departure, at their own expensive. The cost is Le 500,000 (~$50.00) and can be administered at home for an additional L200,000 (~$20.00) fee. Testing information can be found here.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • Open for all flights – prior permission required.
  • A negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel is required to enter Somalia.
  • Passengers leaving the country must have a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel. Passengers are required to arrive at the border checkpoint at least three hours before departure to have time to implement health and safety procedures.
  • In Somaliland, you will not need to quarantine if you have evidence of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arrival.
  • Screening is under the guidance of UN and World Health Organization representatives in Mogadishu.
  • Aden Adde International Airport (Mogadishu) and Egal International Airport (Hargeisa) have put in place additional measures to screen passengers arriving at Hargeisa by air, including temperature checks.
  • All passengers must wear face masks.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

International and regional flights are permitted to operate into South Africa. All foreign registered aircraft require CAA Approval. 
Operators are to apply for slots accordingly. 
Only FAOR, FALE, FAKN, FALA and FACT are Open for scheduled passenger operations. International flight plans to state clearly in field 18 whether the flight contains pax on board or not. Failure to comply, FPLs will be rejected.

Charter operators conducting cargo operations to and from the Republic, are permitted to operate at the following airports with ports health capacity:
FABL, FACT, FALE, FAKN, FALA, FAOR, FAPP, FAPE AND FAUP.

Scheduled domestic passenger flights are permitted to operate to the following aerodromes: 
FAOR, FALE, FACT, FAKN, FAPE, FABL, FAPM, FAUP, FARB, FASZ, FALA, FAEL, FAGG,
FAHS, FAMG, FAUT, FAPH, FAPG, FAPP, FASS AND FAKM.

All medevac flight transporting Covid-19 patients are to apply for approval from the Department of transport.

Any travelers to South Africa will need to present a negative COVID-19 test not older than 72 hours from the time of departure, or will be required to remain in mandatory quarantine at their own cost if they have not done a COVID-19 test.

Flight crew are exempted from Negative PCR test requirement.

Technical stops are permitted.

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS

•    On arrival, travelers will need to present a negative COVID-19 test result not older than 72 hours from time of departure.
•    Where a traveler has not done a COVID-19 test prior to departure, they will be required to remain in mandatory quarantine at their own cost.
•    All travelers will be screened on arrival and those presenting with symptoms will be required to remain in quarantine until a repeat COVID-19 test is conducted.
•    All travelers will be asked to install the COVID Alert South Africa mobile app.

Persons 8 years old and younger are exempt.
    • Effective August 18, 2021, the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority requires all passengers, except as noted above, to possess a certified negative polymerise chain reaction (PCR) test certificate with QR (Quick Response) code dated within 72 hours of arrival. BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  1. All Authorities at Points of Entry should ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures by travelers and staff including hand hygiene, physical distancing and wearing of face masks.
  2. All travelers including Tanzanians, returning residents and members of the crew/layovers are required to truthfully fill in an online Traveler's Health Surveillance Form available at https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/ for Tanzania mainland and https://healthtravelznz.mohz.go.tz for Zanzibar within 24 hours before arrival to URT`. Filling of Traveler's Health Surveillance Form is a mandatory requirement before boarding to URT and there shall be a penalty to conveyances for noncompliance.
  3. All travelers including Tanzanians and returning residents will be required to present a negative COVID 19 test certificate with QR code for verification upon arrival. The only accepted test is Real Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing or Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs) done at a nationally accredited/approved laboratory using sample tested within 96 hours before arrival to URT. Please note, negative COVID 19 test certificate upon arrival is mandatory, penalty shall be imposed to non-compliant conveyances while travelers without a negative COVID 19 test certificate upon arrival shall be denied entry and repatriated at conveyance cost.
  4. All travelers, whether foreigners, Tanzanians or returning residents arriving from countries experiencing variants of concern/variants of interest, highest number of COVID 19 cases based on WHO epidemiological updates or those who have travelled through those countries in the last 14 days regardless of the routes taken shall be subjected to Rapid Antigen Tests at Points of Entry at their own cost. Cost for COVID 19 Rapid Antigen Test shall be 10 USD or TZS 23,000 of which is non-refundable and testing fees applies to travelers arriving in Tanzania Mainland by Air or Marine Vessels. For Zanzibar the cost for Rapid Antigen Test shall be 25 USD or equivalent to TZS. 58,000. Also, Travelers entering URT through Zanzibar having proof of fully vaccinated for COVID 19 using vaccine accepted by Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar will be exempted from Rapid Antigen Test. The updated list of countries for Rapid Antigen Test and accepted COVID 19 vaccines (Zanzibar) are available at https://www.moh.go.tz and https://healthtravelznz.mohz.go.tz website or at Points of Entry. Foreign travelers and residents arrived through Zanzibar from COVID 19 high risk countries who wish to visit Tanzania mainland within 14 days from the date of arrival will be required to present a negative Rapid Antigen Test certificate obtained during entry, otherwise they will be subjected to Rapid Antigen Test at Points of Entry.
  5. All asymptomatic travelers with positive Rapid Antigen Test at the Points of Entry shall be subjected to mandatory quarantine at their own cost at designated places under strict surveillance procedures until they test negative using RT PCR or otherwise evaluated by public health experts as non-infectious. The symptomatic positive Rapid Antigen travelers will be isolated for treatment at designated health facilities until they become asymptomatic and will be transferred to designated places for quarantine until tested negative using RT PCR.   6. Travelers who were infected and recovered from COVID 19 shall be required to submit a proof of recovering from the disease obtained from Authorized Medical personnel upon arrival to Tanzania.
  7. Travelers to Tanzania Mainland are advised to pay for COVID 19 Rapid Antigen Test online to avoid unnecessary queue upon arrival through an automatically generated control number obtained after filling the online Traveler’s Health Surveillance Form (afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz) and for Zanzibar through https://zanzibarcovidtesting.co.tz
  8. Children aged 5 years and below, Travelers in transit, Aircraft crew are exempted from both RT PCR certificate and COVID 19 Rapid Antigen Test.
  9. All arriving conveyances must provide in advance passenger information so as to allow the Authorities at the Points of Entry to scrutinize the manifest for identification of possible high risk passengers and submit duly filled conveyance health declaration forms (Health Part of Aircraft General Declaration, Maritime Health Declaration and Ground Transport/Vehicles Health Declaration Form).
  10. Arriving conveyances will be subjected to decontamination at Points of Entry where necessary. All departing travelers are advised to seek information prior to departure from travel agent regarding COVID 19 requirements of their country of destination or conveyance to be used. However, the following requirement applies to specific destinations as follows;
    1. Travelers to Dubai Airport or transit through Dubai Airport are required to possess a valid RT - PCR obtained within 48 hours from the time of collecting the sample and Rapid PCR (NAAT) performed with six (6) hours of departure.
    2. Travelers to Republic of India, Republic of Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and part of Europe are required in addition to a valid RT - PCR certificates specified by country of their destination to perform a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test prior to departure.

RESTRICTIONS FOR TECHNICAL REFUELING/CREW REST

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • All flights require prior permission.
  • Due to reports of variants of the Coronavirus with high virulence and spread in South Africa, Brazil and India, travelers from the 3 countries mentioned here are systematically quarantined for a period of ten (10 days) within the monitoring structures set up by the Togolese State. The costs of accommodation in the follow-up structures are the responsibility of the traveler.
  • All flights to DXXX will be allowed but require the usual CAA approval.
    • The Togolese State recommends that all travelers departing from or going to Lomé to take out medical or travel insurance when purchasing their ticket, if they do not already have international health insurance.
    • Any traveler departing from Lomé must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test within 7 days before departure.
    • Exception: Travelers whose stay in Togo does not exceed 5 days are exempted from re-testing for COVID-19, upon departure from Lomé, if the test done on arrival at the LFW airport is negative. *However, they must comply with the requirements of the country of destination.
    • Before boarding, any passenger bound for Lomé must present the negative results of a COVID-19 PCR test dating less than 7 days. The document containing these results must be downloaded on the form  ( https://voyage.gouv.tg/ )
  • On arrival, the passenger is subjected to another COVID-19 PCR test at the location set up in the new AIGE terminal. For this purpose, he must complete the online form (https://voyage.gouv.tg/checkphone ) and pay the costs of said test before their departure.
    • Airlines check the results of the passengers' COVID-19 PCR tests on boarding and the electronic receipt attesting to the payment of the costs of the COVID-19 PCR test to be carried out on arrival at Lomé Airport.
  • Any passenger who deviates from this rule will be refused boarding.
    • All travelers must install the  TOGO SAFE mobile application on arrival at Lomé airport and keep it active for the duration of their stay or at least 30 days from their arrival in Togo.

 

RESTRICTIONS FOR TECHNICAL REFUELING/CREW REST

Technical stop flights will be allowed, however no over nights and crew rest stops will be permitted.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • As of December 1, all incoming passengers to Tunisia aged 2 and over, including those fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are required to present a negative PCR test taken less than 48 hours prior to departing for Tunisia.  This test should include a QR code.
  • Starting December 1, a vaccine certificate or pass is required for all incoming non-resident foreigners aged 18 and older. Official vaccination evidence (such as the CDC vaccination card) does not need a QR code.
  • Passengers must comply with the rapid antigen test which will be conducted on a random selection of incoming passengers.
  • All incoming travellers who are unvaccinated are required to complete a 10-day quarantine upon arrival. Unvaccinated travellers must present a paid voucher for a government-sanctioned hotel, as well as a self-funded PCR test done the last day of quarantine. In the case of a positive PCR test following the quarantine period, the traveller will be transported to a COVID isolation centre to be treated at their own expense.
  • Children under the age of 18 who are unaccompanied or who are travelling with vaccinated adults are exempt from mandatory quarantine
  • As of August 25, fully vaccinated travellers are exempt from the mandatory ten-day quarantine at a government-approved hotel upon presentation of their official vaccination card. These travellers must, however, self-isolate at their residence for ten days upon entering Tunisia.
  • QR codes are increasingly being used for travel and to access public spaces.  Individuals vaccinated in the United States can obtain a QR code through the CDC VAMS system. Travelers may also obtain a vaccine QR code by registering with the Tunisian EVAX system.

Entry and Exit Requirements

  • According to the most recent government guidance, the Government of Uganda has issued a directive that effective October 27, 2021, all arriving passengers at Entebbe International Airport will be subjected to COVID-19 testing, regardless of country of origin or vaccination status. (This requirement is in addition to the negative COVID-19 test required less than 72 hours prior to departure.) The ONLY exemptions are for children six years old and below, airline crew with evidence of full COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Arriving passengers will pay USD 30 or the equivalent in Uganda shillings for the COVID-19 PCR test. This must be paid online.
  • The Department of State maintains a Level 3 Travel Advisory for Uganda recommending that travelers should reconsider travel to Uganda due to COVID-19.  The number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda continues to rise.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued
    • a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Uganda. If you must travel to Uganda, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel. Because of the current situation in Uganda, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants. Travelers at 
    • increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should consider postponing all travel, including essential travel, to Uganda.  Medical care resources in Uganda are limited. 
  • All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must take a certified PCR COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours before departure for Uganda and obtain a negative result.
  • Travelers will be required to present their test results to the airline to receive confirmation of their flight booking.  Additionally, effective October 27, all arriving passengers at Entebbe International Airport will be subjected to COVID-19 testing, regardless of country of origin or vaccination status.   • Unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated travelers from countries on List B must undergo a 10-day quarantine on arrival at a hotel.

BUSINESS FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS

  • All pax are required to fill in a health declaration questionnaire on board the aircraft before disembarkation and shall handover to health authorities upon entry.
  • All pax and crew upon entry will be subject to temperature and symptom screening.
  • All pax entering Zambia shall be required to produce a negative SARS-COV-2 PCR test certificate result from the country of departure. The test should have been conducted within 72 hours at the time of arrival.
  • All pax from countries that are deemed to be at high risk of Covid-19 will be subjected to SARS-COV-2 testing at the points of entry even if they have a negative PCR test certificate. Specimen will be collected on arrival or within 48 hours of entry into the country.
  • Testing at points of entry using Polymerase Chain Reaction test (PCR test) will be conducted at the traveller’s cost.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Following the post Cabinet Briefing and the National address by the President on the 30th of November 2021, the following measures will be deployed for arriving passengers at the 3 major airports, Robert Mugabe International, Joshua Nkomo International and Victoria Falls International. These measures will be in force following the publication of a relevant Statutory Instrument between today and Friday the 3rd of December 2021.

  • Every person arriving in Zimbabwe is required to have negative PCR Health Certificate valid for 48 hours from the date and time of issue of such a certificate.
  • Every person arriving in Zimbabwe will get a PCR Test, possibly by gene expert, done at the Port of Entry. Results expected within 20 minutes.
  • Persons below the age of 61 months will be exempted from PCR testing on arrival.
    • Other exemptions may only be issued by the Secretary of Health e.g., on Health grounds or age. Official exemptions include VIPs, Diplomats and their families, Envoys, UN staff and their families. Official exemptions will quarantine at home.
  • Once tested the person will proceed to a quarantine center of their choice at cost to that person. Results will be communicated to each individual tested when results are ready.
  • Each person arriving in Zimbabwe shall book accommodation at the designated quarantine centers on or prior to arrival. Transport will be provided by hotels/lodges. People failing to afford quarantine accommodation and/or transport will be handed over to Government Social Welfare Department.
  • Quarantine centers will be published by the MOHCC. These will be lodges and hotels.
  • Quarantine is 10 days and retests will be done on days 7 or 8. Isolation is 14 days.
  • NO HOME QUARANTINE.
  • The MOHCC will establish Airport PCR Testing laboratories. And each PC test shall be done at a nominal fee yet to be published.
  • Persons designated as business travelers, e.g. those visiting the government, shall be exempted for quarantine requirements. Proof thereof shall be required
  • There are no new measures for tourists. These are yet to be published.
  • The current PCR test centers operated by private institutions will remain available for other tests and not for quarantine purposes.
  • Crew on night stopping (from airport of origin or in Zimbabwe) will be exempted. The 30-day validity period, for each crew PCR HC to be reviewed.
  • Measures for land borders remain unchanged. Essential goods drivers PCR HC validity to be reviewed.
  • Passengers to get designated transport from the airport to the quarantine centers.
  • Government yet to come up with a plan on whether to secure passports during the entire duration of the quarantine or isolation and only release the passports at the end of such period.
  • Each quarantine center will be manned by police.
  • MOHCC to monitor quarantine centers.
  • These measures will be reviewed after 14 days from the date of publication of the SI.
  • Violation of these measures is an offence.
  • Testing of arriving passengers will not affect turnaround flights.
