Oct. 21, 2019 – MIAMI – World Fuel Services releases the next step in its myWorld vision of an integrated environment for all customer applications. The myWorld iPad app has become a key application for pilots and dispatchers since its full release in 2018. The platform should become an even more valued resource with the launch of a redesigned web portal that drastically improves speeds and functionality by replacing FuelFinder and airPortfolio. It unveils at the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, Oct. 22-24.

“Our vision for myWorld has always been a user-friendly, fast-loading, single-login environment that lets customers access our software tools in one place,” says Joel Purdom, World Fuel’s senior vice president of global trip support and technology. “This latest addition greatly boosts the customers’ efficiency.”

Revamped, Second Applications for myWorld Environment
myWorld Portal is the next evolution of FuelFinder and airPortfolio integrating the tools customers use most under a single sign-on with a mobile, responsive approach, working on multiple devices and platforms. The new customer portal dramatically improves fuel quoting, setup and access to invoices. The fuel interface was the starting point of the myWorld Web Portal development effort. World Fuel Services added the invoice management and data download capabilities of airPortfolio creating the perfect application for not only the operations team, but also accounting and the back office.

At the same time, World Fuel Services releases a new version of the myWorld iPad app.

User-Driven, User-Tested Functionality for iPad
The iPad app update is based on user feedback and focuses on performance and ease-of-use. For example, many actions now happen automatically in the background, allowing the user to continue doing other things inside of the app – rather than waiting for a download to complete before moving on. Users can now quickly run a plan and with one additional click, file it, uplink it and have a weather package automatically created and sent to the user.

The next-generation iPad version draws upon user-interface testing to create a highly mobile, responsive environment. It enhances data delivery whether searching for fuel or accessing invoices. It delivers targeted experiences designed for the user, whether a pilot or a scheduler/dispatcher. For instance, pilots can go to myWorld to quickly have World Fuel Services provide a real-time quote and set up fuel while on the go.

Today’s myWorld performance enhancements include:

  • One-Tap Filing allowing the user to file, uplink and deliver a flight package with one click and showing status of all three
  • Auto deferred ATC filings
  • Optimized speeds
  • Radar summary in weather/layers
  • While charts download in background, selection of other charts
  • Navigation speed optimization
  • Downloadable interactive echarts such as color enhanced radar, wind/temp GFS, AIRMETS
  • Navigation between sections while app runs in the background
  • Selection of an existing route while optimized route calculation performs in the background

“Generally, we increased the speed throughout the app as more processing of routes, legs, calculations are done in the background allowing the user to continue working. As we go forward, more functionality will be added to the myWorld environment,” says Jeff Briand, World Fuel’s vice president of global trip support. “It’s going to keep getting better and better.”

Customers can download the free myWorld app on the App Store for iOS iPad devices. Simply search the App Store for “myWorld WFS” to locate, download and tap into this new release.
